Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir registered on Friday 158 fresh cases of novel coronavirus even as no Covid-19 related fatality was reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, Kashmir Valley reported 132 new cases of virus on Friday while the remaining 26 were detected from various parts of the winter capital, taking the overall number of people infected by virus in J&K so far to 333825.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar reported highest 73 cases, Baramulla 31, Kupwara 9, Budgam 6, Anantnag 5, Ganderbal 4, Pulwama 3 and Bandipora 1 new case of virus. Kulgam and Shopian districts in south Kashmir reported no new cases of virus.
In the winter capital, Jammu reported a maximum of 13 new cases, Rajouri 4, Doda and Samba 3 each, Reasi 2 and Poonch 1new case of virus. No fresh cases were reported from Udhampur, Kathua, Kishtwar and Ramban districts.
“Moreover, 105 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, eight from Jammu Division and 97 from Kashmir,” they said.
Also, the official said that the death toll due to pandemic in J&K remained 4448—2178 in Jammu and 2270 in Kashmir, as no fresh fatality was reported on Friday.
