Srinagar: Coronavirus claimed the lives of three more people in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, while 111 fresh cases of virus were reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, three more people succumbed to coronavirus in Kashmir Valley on Monday, taking the overall fatality count to 4443 in J&K —2177 in Jammu division and 2266 in Kashmir division,
About the new positive cases, the officials said that 92 were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 19 from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 333187.
In the Valley, the officials said, Srinagar reported 44 cases of coronavirus, Budgam 15, Ganderbal 11, Baramulla 10, Bandipora 6, Kupwara 4 and one new case each in Pulwama and Anantnag districts. The twin districts of Kulgam and Shopian reported no fresh cases.
In the winter capital, officials said Jammu reported a maximum of eight new cases, Reasi 7, Doda 2 and one new case each in Udhampur and Ramban. No fresh cases were detected in Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar and Poonch districts.
“Moreover, 96 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 11from Jammu Division and 85 from Kashmir Division,” the officials said.
They further said that no new cases of Mucormycosis have been reported on Monday.
