Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 95 fresh cases of novel coronavirus even as no death due to the infection was reported from the Union Territory on the second consecutive day Thursday.
According to the officials, Kashmir Valley reported 81 new cases of coronavirus while the remaining 14 were detected from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 332651.
In the Valley, officials said that Srinagar reported highest 35 new cases of virus, Baramulla 14, Budgam 13, Kupwara 6, Pulwama, Bandipora and Ganderbal 4 each and Shopian one new case of Covid-19. The twin districts of Anantnag and Kulgam in south Kashmir reported no new cases.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported a maximum of eight new cases, Kathua 3, Doda 2 and Poonch 1 fresh case of infection. The six districts of Udhampur, Rajouri, Samba, Kishtwar, Ramban and Reasi registered no new cases of coronavirus on Thursday.
“Moreover, 60 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, five from Jammu Division and 55 from Kashmir,” officials said.
Also, the officials said that the death toll due to pandemic remained 4438—2176 in Jammu and 2262 in Kashmir, as no fresh fatality was reported during the last 24 hours.
