SRINAGAR- The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad on Monday undertook a visit to Panthachowk bypass to inspect the ongoing work on Lasjan (Athwajan) grade separator on NH-44 .
On the occasion, the DC was informed that piling work on Panthachowk side of the project has been completed while the work on Baramulla side of the Grade Separator is going on in full swing.
The DC directed the concerned executing agency to work in double shifts to speed up the pace of work so that the project is completed at an earliest.
He said that the project is of great public importance and the progress of work is being monitored on a periodic basis for its earliest completion. He said as soon as the Flyover is completed, it will help overcome the Traffic Jams, besides will ensure smooth ply of traffic on the highway.
Meanwhile, one Tube of the Grade Separator has already been completed.
During the visit, the DC was accompanied by Chief Planning Officer, Srinagar, Mohammed Yaseen Lone; Assistant Commissioner Nazool, Sandeep Bali; Tehsildar Panthachowk Younis Ahmad; Project Manager NHAI and other concerned officers.
