Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Wednesday 70 fresh cases of novel coronavirus while 86 more patients recovered from the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 64 new cases of coronavirus were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 6 from Jammu division, thus taking the total number of people infected by virus in J&K to 331865.
In the Valley, officials said, Srinagar registered highest 49 new cases of virus followed by Budgam, Ganderbal and Baramulla with 3 each, while Bandipora reported two new cases of coronavirus. The remaining five districts of Valley, including Pulwama, Kupwara, Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian reported no case of virus.
In the winter capital, officials said that Jammu and Doda reported two new cases each, while one case of virus each was reported from Kishtwar and Reasi districts. Udhampur, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Poonch and Ramban reported no case of Covid-19.
Also, officials said, 86 more Covid patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 9 from Jammu division and 77 from Kashmir Valley.
Meanwhile, the death toll due to coronavirus remained 4431 in J&K —2176 in Jammu and 2255 in Kashmir, as no fatality was reported on Friday.
