Bags 3rd place in the Sanda event of the competition
SRINAGAR: The J&K Junior Wushu team won 6 medals and emerged 3rd in the overall Sanda event rankings of Junior National Wushu Championship that concluded on Tuesday at Lovely Professional University (LPU) campus in Punjab.
The J&K Wushu team secured 2 Gold and 4 Bronze medals in the championship.
Sadia Tariq and Ansa Chisti secured Gold medals in the below 48kg and 52kg, respectively. It is the second consecutive Gold medal for Sadia Tariq, whereas Ansa Chisti converted her previous silver medal to Gold.
Ayra Chisti, Kaifa Shah, Ali and Ajmal secured Bronze medals in the championship.
Ayra Chisti got injured during the bout and missed Gold medal.
Manipur lifted the overall trophy of the championship with 26 gold, 17 silver and 12 bronze medals in boys and girls categories.
The competitions were held in two types of Wushu – Sanda and Taolu, in nine weight categories for boys and five for girls.
