SRINAGAR: Two matches of the JKFA Premier Division League Football 2021 were played on Thursday at Synthetic Turf TRC here.
In the first match of the day, Downtown Heroes FC defeated J&K Forest XI by 2 goals to 1. Frank scored the first goal for the Heroes in the first half. Frank scored again in the 55th minute of second half to give his side a 2-0 lead. Forest team managed to pull one back in the 74th minute through Javaid Ahmad but couldn’t find the equaliser till the end. The match ended 2-1 in favour of Downtown Heroes FC. Frank was awarded man of the match award.
The second Premier Division League match of the day was played between J&K Police XI and J&K Bank Football Academy XI. The match ended in a 1-1 draw. For the J&K Police team the result was a disappointing one as they fully expected to take all three points from the game. On the other hand, the youngsters of J&K Bank Academy will take pride in drawing with one of J&K’s footballing juggernauts.
J&K Police took the lead in the 18th minute of the first half through Mansoor. The Police team led the match 1-0 till the 83rd minute, when Huzaif Shafi scored the equalising goal for the J&K Bank Academy side. The match ended 1-1.
Meanwhile, in the second round stage of DFA Srinagar A-Division League 2021, one match was played on Thursday at Gindun Ground, Rajbagh.
The match was played between Al-Ahlam FC and Real Cosmos FC ended in a 1-1 draw. Adil was the scorer for Al-Ahlam while Umair scored for the Real Cosmos.
