SRINAGAR: Two matches of the JKFA Khyber Premier Division League 2021 were played on Friday at Synthetic Turf, TRC here.
In the first match, J&K Police XI defeated J&K Forest XI by 4 goals to 2. J&K Police dominated the proceedings in the first half and Faisal Rasheed gave his team the lead in 42nd minute. After a 1-0 half time score, the second half saw 5 goals scored by both teams.
Nainjoot doubled Police’s lead in 46th minute. J&K Forest pulled a goal back in the 48t minute through Javed Hussain. However, Police’s Faisal scored two goals in 65th and 83rd minute to score the tournament’s first hat trick. J&K Forest XI was awarded a penalty in the dying moments of the match which was converted by Ashiq Mushtaq. At full time, the score read 4-2 in favour of J&K Police XI. Faisal Rasheed was awarded the man of the match award.
In the second Premier League match, J&K Accountant General’s (AG’s) XI defeated Ali Jana FC by a solitary goal.
An evenly contested match saw no goals scored in the first half. However, AG’s midfield-maestro, Hanan Tariq managed to find the back of the net in 46th minute of the second half. The AG’s XI held on to their slender lead till final whistle. AG’s XI captain Shahnawaz Bashir was awarded man of the match award.
In A-Division League 2021, one match was played at Gindun Ground, Rajbagh. Central Academy and Mehjoor United FC played a 0-0 draw.
