Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Thursday 93 new cases of coronavirus while 104 more patients recovered from the deadly infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 72 fresh cases of novel coronavirus were detected in Kashmir Valley and the remaining 21 from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to to 330834.
Giving district wise details of cases, the officials said that Srinagar reported highest 47, followed by Baramulla with 12, Kupwara 5, Budgam 4 and Anantnag and Bandipora 2 new cases each. No new cases were reported from Ganderbal, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama districts.
In the winter capital, officials said, a maximum of 19 cases were reported from Doda, six from Jammu and 5 from Reasi. Seven districts of Udhampur, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch and Ramban reported no new case of virus.
Also, the officials said that 104 more patients have recovered—28 from Jammu Division and 76 from Kashmir. They also said that there was no Covid-19 related fatality reported from J&K. So far 4426—2174 in Jammu and 2252 in Kashmir—have died due to the pathogen, they said.
The officials also said that one more fresh case of mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported on Thursday, taking the number of confirmed cases in J&K to 48.
