Srinagar: As many as 136 more coronavirus infected persons recovered in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday while 80 new positive cases of virus were reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 136 more patients recovered—47 from Jammu and 89 from Kashmir from the deadly infection on Tuesday. During the same time, they said, the UT reported 80 fresh cases—67 from Kashmir and 13 from Jammu, taking the overall number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic in J&K last year to 330666.
In Valley, the officials said, Srinagar reported maximum 37 new cases of Covid-19, followed by Anantnag with 8, Baramulla and Budgam 6 each, Ganderbal 5, Kupwara 4 and Pulwama one fresh case of virus. No fresh case of virus was reported from Bandipora, Kulgam and Shopian districts.
In the winter capital, officials said, Reasi reported highest 7 new cases, Jammu and Poonch two each and Doda and Kathua districts one each. Five districts of Udhampur, Rajouri, Samba, Kishtwar and Ramban reported no new case of coronavirus.
Also, the officials said that no Covid-19 related fatality was reported during the last 24 hours. So far 4426—2174 in Jammu and 2252 in Kashmir—have died due to the virus.
Meanwhile, in a statement issued here, an official spokesperson said that 13 districts in the UT— Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Ramban, Doda Samba, Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama, Budgam, Bandipora and Ganderbal have achieved 100% first dose vaccine coverage.
