SRINAGAR: Maintaining that the preparations for class 10 and 12 exams were complete, Director Education Tassaduq Hussain has said that the exams for the two classes would be held in succession in the upcoming month of November.
The Director Education said that they are ready for exams as the disinfection activities including sanitation, fumigation have been carried out at the exam centres. “As such the exams for Class 10 would be or by before November 10 and for Class 12 the exams would be held around November 20.”
Regarding the syllabus, he said that owing to the prevailing pandemic situation the directorate has decided to give a relaxation of thirty percent in the syllabus to facilitate the students.
Underlining that online classes could never be taken as an “alternative” to offline classes, Hussain said that government tried best by conducting online classes, Learning Management System (LMS), radio classes, tele-classes and started community classes as well.
“This blended mode of education was initiated to overcome the learning gaps,” Hussain said, adding, “There still are some learning gaps which we are trying to abridge by conducting capsule and short term courses.”
When asked about the unaffordability of smartphones and other gadgets by poor section of students, the Directorate head said that on coming to know about the issue they switched over to blended mode of education including radio classes and tele-classes in May itself. (GNS)
