Srinagar: Militants on Thursday attacked CRPF personnel with a grenade in Safa Kadal area of Old City here.
According to reports, militants hurled a hand grenade towards the personnel of 161 battalion CRPF in Braripora locality of Safa Kadal on Thursday evening. The grenade, reports said, exploded with a bang. However, no reports of loss of life or injury were reported in the grenade attack.
According to the reports, panic gripped the area, as the loud explosion prompted the traders to down their shutters and run towards the safer places. Many passerby, reports said, were also seen running helter skelter.
Earlier in the day, suspected militants shot dead two government employees, including a school Principal in the neighbouring Eidgah locality.
