SRINAGAR: In the ongoing first edition Positive Kashmir Knockout Football Championship 2021, the third match of the Championship was played on Sunday at Synthetic Turf TRC between Sports Council Football Academy (SCFA) and J&K Bank XI.
J&K Bank XI defeated SCFA in the tie breaker after a full-time score of 1-1. The younguns of SCFA XI exhibited quality football and enthralled the audience while seasoned team of J&K Bank tried to maintain their unbeaten position.
In the 25th minute of the first half J&K Bank took the lead through Farhan. The first half ended 1:0 in favour J&K Bank XI.
The second half was virtually dominated by SCFA boys, who did not allow the superior forward line of J&K Bank to penetrate the their defensive setup. One goal down, SCFA created several opportunities and finally managed to equalise via a superb goal by Sajad in 75th minute.
The full-time score of 1-1 meant that the tie breaker rule was applied. In the penalty shootout, J&K Bank defeated SCFA 3-1. SCFA goalkeeper Taif was awarded man of the match award for his performance.
The KO Tournament is organised by JKFA and NGO Positive Kashmir.
