Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday relieved retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, Baseer Ahmad Khan from the post of Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory.
Pursuant to communication No 15030/40/2019-J&K dated 4th October, 2021, of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Shri Baseer Ahmad Khan (retired IAS: 2000) is hereby relieved from the post of Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, with immediate effect,” reads an order issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Commissioner/ Secretary to the government.
Pertinently, Baseer Khan, the then Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir, was appointed as the fourth advisor to former J&K Lieutenant Governor G C Murmu on March, 15 last year.
A year earlier in June, 2019, Khan and his twin brother Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Muneer Khan got an identical order of one-year extension of their service on a day they were retiring.
