Srinagar: Police have arrested three persons for duping a man by selling him a stone and claiming it to be ‘celestial object’ in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Ghulam Qadir Parray, Rafiq Ahmad Parray , both residents of Lassipora, Drung and Mohammad Aslam Khan of Nadihal Bandipora were arrested by police on the basis of a complaint filed Ghulam Mohammad Wani of Ganderbal alleging that the trio sold him a stone claiming it to be ‘Heavenly ball’ ( Trati Gola) against an amount of Rs four lacs, a police spokesperson said.
He said that the accused were arrested within two hours along with Rs four lakh cash, it was not immediately known why the man wanted to buy the fake “celestial object”
“A case (FIR No. 216/2021) under relevant sections of law was registered at Police station Magam and investigations taken up,” he said.
“General public is requested not to get swayed by these inimical tactics of anti-social elements and cooperate with police to identify such elements who indulge in these activities,” the police spokesperson added.
