SRINAGAR- Traffic Police City Srinagar in a continuous effort to remove congestion from Srinagar city and stop the accidents has launched a drive against two wheelers for nonuse of helmets.
The drive was intensified after the death of two young children at Nowgam when an oil tanker hit them, and got killed on the spot. It was found that both the children were without helmets.
‘Several motorcycles and Scooties were seized under Motor Vehicle Act while found violating several laws’, traffic Police said. It was informed by the court of Addl. Mobile Magistrate Srinagar convicted violators especially two wheelers.
Addl. Mobile Magistrate Srinagar, found drivers guilty of offence i.e non-possession of driving license u/s 3/181 MV Act and accordingly sentenced them to a simple imprisonment for one day.
Meanwhile, Traffic Police City Srinagar requested people to ensure that they leave the homes with proper documents, make a habit to wear crash helmets and follow traffic rules for their own safety.
