Srinagar: In a tragic accident, a minor boy on Tuesday died after falling into a trench in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Four-year-old Haider Iqbal Mir, son of Mohammad Iqbal Mir was playing outside his home in Pringroo village of Mawar when he fell into a newly-constructed trench, reports said Tuesday. The minor, reports said, was instantly removed to the NTPHC Qalamabad in unconscious condition. However, the doctors there declared him dead.
A pall of gloom descended in the village when the minor’s body was brought back for last rites.
