Suffers heart attack while exercising in a park
SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Valley’s football fraternity on Tuesday condoled the demise of veteran footballer and coach, M.M Mir.
In a statement, J&K Football Association (JKFA) said it deeply mourned the sad demise of M.M Mir, who passed away on Tuesday due to sudden cardiac arrest while doing practice and exercises at Municipal Park, Jawahar Nagar.
“Mir was ex-Physical Director, sports writer and football coach, and a famous footballer who worked very hard for the development of the sports particularly football. He was an outstanding football player and a referee and played for Court Road Football Club for a long time during yesteryears,” the JKFA statement said.
“J&K Football Association and the fraternity of Footballers condole the demise of this great man who was known for the virtues he possessed. JKFA shares the grief with the bereaved family at this said hour. We offer our heartfelt condolences on his bereavement and pray to almighty that the departed soul may rest in peace and best realms of heavenly abode and give forbearance to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement added.
