AWANTIPORA: A 2-Day Online National Workshop on ‘Modern Tools and Techniques in Chemical Sciences’ organised by the Department of Chemistry concluded at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) on Saturday.
At least 170 participants representing various Universities of India, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia participated in this online workshop in which renowned Professors from different institutes and universities delivered lectures.
Prominent sessions on Day two included ‘Tutorial Session on Computational Chemistry’ by Dr. Mudit Dixit from Lovely Professional University, ‘Application of Isothermal Titration Calorimetry in Bio molecular Drug System’ by Prof. Riyazudden from AMU, ‘Analytical Monitoring of Compound bio target interactions’ by Dr. Masood Rizvi from KU, ‘Separation Techniques (HPLC, MS)’ by Dr. Anish Pal from Institute of Nano Science and Technology Mohali.
Workshop Convenor and HOD Chemistry, Dr. Abid Shalla expressed his satisfaction over the successful completion of this workshop.
“It has been a significant program in which guest speakers delivered enriching and detailed lectures, which will go a long-way in creating expertise in the field of Chemical Sciences,” said Dr. Shalla.
He further expressed his gratitude to Vice Chancellor IUST and Chief Patron of this Workshop, who
has been envisioning a standard research-acumen and scholarship in researchers. Dr. Shalla also
thanked Dean of Sciences and Patron Workshop, Prof. GM Rather and Media Advisor to VC IUST, Dr. Monisa Qadiri for their support.
Meanwhile, Assistant professor Department of Chemistry, Dr. Manzoor Ahmad Dar moderated all
the sessions. In their feedback, the participants appreciated the planning and management of the
workshop and hoped for an offline follow-up workshop soon at the campus.
