Srinagar: For the first time in over two months, Jammu and Kashmir reported on Wednesday over 200 fresh cases of novel coronavirus, while no Covid-19 related fatality was reported from the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, Kashmir Valley reported 159 new cases of coronavirus, almost half of them from Srinagar, where administration is mulling to impose lockdown in certain pockets to combat the spread of deadly disease.
The remaining 45 cases, officials said, were detected from the winter capital.
Giving district wise details, officials said, Srinagar reported highest 80 cases, Budgam 28, Baramulla and Ganderbal 14 each, Pulwama and Bandipora 7 each, Anantnag 5 and Kupwara 4. The twin districts of Kulgam and Shopian reported no new case of virus.
In Jammu division, Reasi reported 28 cases followed by 4 new cases in Samba, Rajouri and Jammu districts and one new case each in Udhampur, Doda, Kathua, Kishtwar and Poonch. No case was reported from Ramban district.
Also, the officials said that 118 more Covid -19 patients have recovered during the time—17 from Jammu Division and 101 from Kashmir.
Meanwhile, there was no fresh confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today, they said. So far 46 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J-K, the officials added. (With GNS inputs)
