Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Monday 128 fresh cases of coronavirus, over half of them from Srinagar, while the virus also claimed life of one more person in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, 109 new cases of coronavirus were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 19 from Jammu division on Monday thus taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 328069.
In Valley, the officials said, Srinagar reported highest 68 cases followed by Budgam 14, Baramulla 9, Ganderbal 6, Pulwama and Kupwara 4 each, Bandipora 2 and one each case in Anantnag and Shopian districts. No new case of Covid-19 was reported from Kulgam district in south Kashmir.
Likewise, officials said, Reasi reported 7, Jammu 5, Doda 4, Rajouri 2 and Samba 1 new case of virus. No case of Coronavirus was reported from five districts of Udhampur, Kathua, Kishtwar, Poonch and Ramban.
Moreover, officials said, 159 more Covid-19 patients have recovered—19 from Jammu and 140 from Kashmir.
Also, officials said, one more person died of Covid-19 in Jammu division on Monday, taking the fatality count in J&K to 4417— 2170 in Jammu division and 2247 in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, there was one fresh confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today, they said. So far 46 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials added.
