Srinagar: The health department on Monday attached Block Medical Officer (BMO) Nagam in central Kashmir’s Budgam district over alleged charges of sexually harassing a lady doctor.
The order in this regard was issued by the Director Health Services Kashmir on Monday
“In the interest of administration, Dr Ashfaq Hasssan I/C Block Medical Officer Nagam Budgam is attached with the office of Chief Medical Officer Pulwama till further orders,” the order reads. It further added that “Both the above doctors shall deem themselves relieved from present place of posting,” reads the order, a copy of which lies with Kashmir Observer.
Earlier, on September 18, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Budgam, Dr. Tajamul-Hussain had constituted a six-member committee to enquire complaint lodged against the BMO.
“The committee shall submit its report to the undersigned within two days positively for onwards submission to higher authority,” reads the order issued by CMO Budgam.
Talking to Kashmir Observer, Dr. Tajamul-Hussain said he has constituted a committee after allegations were levelled against the BMO.
“A committee is currently probing the case. The report will be submitted to the Director Health once investigations are completed,” he said.
