Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Friday 155 fresh cases of novel coronavirus, most of them from Srinagar city, while the deadly infection claimed one more life in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 133 cases of Covid-19 were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 22 from Jammu division, taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 327621.
In Valley, Srinagar reported the highest 96 new cases of coronavirus followed by Baramulla and Budgam with 8 each, Ganderbal 7, Kupwara 6, Pulwama and Bandipora 3 each and one each case from Anantnag and Shopian, officials said. No fresh case of virus was reported from Kulgam district.
Six of the districts in Jammu division including Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, Kishtwar, Poonch and Reasi reported no case of Covid-19 on Friday, they said. However, Doda district reported 12, Jammu 5, Ramban 3 and Rajouri 2 new cases of virus.
During the same time, officials said, 135 more Covid-19 patients have recovered—34 from Jammu and 101 from Kashmir.
Meanwhile, one more coronavirus related death was reported from the Valley on Friday thus taking the overall fatality count to 4416 in J&K-— 2169 in Jammu division and 2247 in Kashmir.
Also, officials said, one more confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today. So far 46 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials added.
