Srinagar: Six members of a family in Amda Kadal area of the city tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday prompting the district administration to declare the area as ‘micro-containment’ zone.
According to officials, six members of a family from Amda Kadal tested positive for coronavirus after undergoing tests. They said acting swiftly, the area was declared a ‘micro-containment’ zone to prevent further spread of the deadly disease in the area.
Also, the officials said, random testing will be carried out to establish if more people have been infected by the virus in the area.
In the neighbouring Baghwanpora area, the officials said that over a dozen cases of Covid-19 have been detected during random testing by the health authorities.
