Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported on Saturday 166 cases of novel coronavirus while one more person succumbed to the deadly infection in during the last 24 hours.
According to officials, 137 fresh cases of Covid-19 were reported from Kashmir Valley and the remaining 29 from Jammu division thus taking the total number of people infected since the outbreak of pandemic last year in J&K to 324979.
Srinagar reported the highest 77 new cases in the Valley, while the lowest 3 cases of infection were reported from Bandipora district, officials said. They said Shopian in south Kashmir reported no new cases of Covid-19, while Baramulla reported 10, Budgam 16, Pulwama 9, Kupwara 6, Ganderbal 8, Kulgam and Anantnag 4 each new cases of virus.
In the winter capital, officials said, Jammu reported 2 cases, Rajouri 3, Doda 14, Kathua 1, Samba 2, Kishtwar 6, and Reasi 1. Three districts of Udhampur, Poonch and Ramban reported no new case of virus.
Also, officials said, one new coronavirus related death was reported from Jammu division, taking the overall fatality count in J&K to 4406—2165 in Jammu and 2241 in Kashmir.
Moreover, the officials said that 103 more Covid-19 patients have recovered—36 from Jammu Division and 67 from the Valley.
