Srinagar: Police in north Kashmir’s Sopore on Friday arrested Shahid Imran, so called Editor-in-Chief of a Facebook news page Kashmir Crown in a case of alleged extortion
According to a police spokesperson, Imran was arrested after a case FIR number 145/2021 under sections 384, 385, 506 (1) 420 and 120B IPC was filed at the police station Dangiwacha following a court order on August 9 directing a case to be lodged against Imran and his correspondent Ashiq Mir.
“During the course of investigation one person namely Ashiq Salam Mir, son of Abdul Salam Mir of Bagh Islam Baramulla was arrested yesterday and today Kashmir Crown’s Chief Editor Shahid Imran Ganie, son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganie of Ruhama Rafiabad was formally arrested,” he said.
The police spokesperson further said that the investigation in the case is going on.
