SRINAGAR: In the ongoing Super Division Annual Football League Tournament 2021 two matches were played on Thursday at Synthetic Turf TRC here.
The Super Division League is being organised by District Football Association (DFA) Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir Football Association and the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council.
The first match of the day was played between Young Rangreth FC and Court Road FC. Both the clubs started with an aggressive note trying to create gaps to find the net. Court Road FC in the 5th minute scored a goal through Hyder. Young Rangreth FC did their best to equalize although they made certain good moves at the opponents goal but could not succeed.
The first half was evenly balanced and the score at half time was 1:0 in favour of Court Road FC. The second half saw good football with Young Rangreth FC leaving no stone unturned to go for an equaliser. Their efforts bore fruits when Court Road FC succeeded in equalizing through a goal by Mehboob Sarfaraz in 62nd minute. The match eventually ended with 1-1 draw.
The second match was played Young Iqbal FC and Towheed FC Rajbagh.
Right from the start of the match both teams made calculated moves at each others goal but could not find the net immediately. It was in the 20th minute of the first half that Towheed FC took the lead by scoring a goal through Faizan.
Young Iqbal FC did their best to equalize although they made certain good moves at the opponents goal but could not succeed. The solid defence of the Towheed FC did not gave any chances to the opponent. In the dying moments of the match, Towheed FC doubled the lead through Mohd. Kaif and maintained the 2-0 goal lead till the final whistle. The match ended with 2-0 goal in favour of Towheed FC.
14th Edition Late Dada Sir Memorial League: Two Matches Played
Two matches were played on Thursday in the ongoing 14th Edition Late Dada Sir Memorial League Football Championship, in Bandipora.
The last two matches of the League’s first round were played at S. K. Stadium Bandipora.
First match was played between B. N. Gazi FC and Aragam FC in which B. N. Gazi FC won the match by 2 goals to nil.
The second match was awarded to Real Wular FC Laharwapora as United Watapora FC failed to report to the ground.
The tournament is being organised by DFA Bandipora.
