Srinagar: Police on Tuesday claimed to have busted a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) module by arresting six alleged over-ground workers of the outfit from north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Muzaffar Mohiuddin Lone, Mohammad Amin Lone, Rizwan Qadir Lone, Imtiyaz Ahmad Lone, Javaid Ahmed Lone and Mohammad Saleem Khan were arrested on the basis of specific input about anti national activity in the general area of Bandipora, a police spokesperson said Tuesday. All the six, he said, were militant associates of Lashkar.
“Incriminating arms and ammunition have been recovered from their possession which includes 2 live hand grenades,2 Detonators,15 AK Series Rounds , 2 Matrix Sheets and other materials,” he said.
On preliminary enquiry, the police spokesperson said it was revealed that the accused were associated with LeT and were providing shelter, logistics and other material support to active militants of LeT in Bandipora district.
“In this regard Case FIR under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been taken up,” he added.
