Srinagar: The People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) is meeting on Tuesday to discuss the prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir and to discuss the future course of action.
According to insiders, the five party conglomerate, including National Conference (NC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Communist Party of India- Marxist (CPI-M), Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) and Jammu and Kashmir Awami National Conference (JKANC) will meet tomorrow morning at the Gupkar residence of PAGD President Dr Farooq Abdullah to discuss the prevailing situation in the Union Territory.
The meeting, as per the insiders is scheduled to start at 11:00 am.
“The invitation has been sent out to all the alliance constituents. Senior leaders of all the parties are expected to attend the meeting and present their viewpoint on the prevailing situation. Over 100-150 political leaders are expected in the meeting,” a National Conference leader told Kashmir Observer.
The meeting, he said, will also discuss the future strategy to achieve the goal of seeking the restoration of the special status of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir that was revoked by the Centre in August 2019.
Pertinently, the last meeting of PAGD was held at the residence of Farooq Abdullah on August 4.
