Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police force (CRPF) Head Constable was injured on Monday in a grenade attack in the Eidgah area of the Old City here.
Around 7:50 pm, unknown militants lobbed a grenade on a bunker of CRPF161 battalion near Aali Masjid in Eidgah area here, officials said. The grenade exploded with a bang leaving a CRPF Head Constable identified as Pravin Kumar injured.
Kumar, who received splinter injuries in his right hand, right shoulder and right thigh, was removed to the SMHS hospital for treatment, officials said.
Medical Superintendent SMHS, Dr Kanwaljeet Singh told Kashmir Observer that the CRPF man has received minor injuries and his condition is stable.
“We have kept him under observation for now,” he added.
The grenade attack on CRPF came over an hour after police killed two top commander of The Resistance Front (TRF) in a brief shootout in Aloochi Bagh area of the city.
