SRINAGAR: The Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council (JKSC) on Thursday launched a Women’s Cricket Tournament at TRC Cricket Ground in Srinagar.
Secretary, JKSC, Nuzhat Gul inaugurated the tournament which will see the participation of young trainees of Sports Council’s Cricket Academy.
“(The girls) have been training under former cricketer Abid Nabi, who is now a junior Cricket coach. The tournament is aimed at match simulation of players besides checking the progress of their skill level,” a JKSC statement said.
“Speaking on the occasion, Secretary, JKSC assured players of all her cooperation and assured them their demand of providing cricket gears and equipment equipments shall be addressed soon. She gave on-the-spot directions to Abid Nabi to submit list of demands and follow up,” the statement added.
The JKSC Secretary was accompanied by Masood Khan, Manager Indoor Sports Complex, Mohammad Iqbal, Incharge, Indoor Sports Complex Pologround, Hilal Ahmad, Incharge TRC Football and Cricket Ground, besides other officials from the Sports Council.
