SRINAGAR: Grand Warriors Academy of Martial Arts bagged 4 medals in different categories in Open Kashmir Mega event in which about 500 athletes from different districts and clubs participated.
The Open Kashmir Mega event, which was held at Old City Srinagar’s Mother Land School from August 8 to August 11, and was organised by International Tigers Martial Art. In the event, the 4-member team of Grand Warriors from Srinagar led by the team coach Aftab Khan, under the supervision of the Senior Coach Adil Hussain Khan, won 4 medals in different weight categories.
Senior Grand Warriors coach Adil Hussain reflecting on the achievements said, “It has been just one week since we started our academy. Thanks to almighty Allah that our dedication and hard work paid off, it is a matter of great pride that Grand Warriors earned the four medals.”
“Earlier one of our players Munshi Masooma participated in District Pencak Silat Championship and secured Silver medal. She has now been selected for upcoming state championship,” the senior coach said.
“We worked very hard for this and got the estimated results,” team coach Aftab Khan said.
The Grand Warriors who won medals in the Open Kashmir competition include, Suhail who bagged the Silver medal, Emad who took the Silver medal, Arooj won the bronze medal while Sameer won the bronze medal.
