Srinagar- An ambulance caught fire in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday, officials said.
They said driver on noticing the trouble in the ambulance stopped it near Turchan mode in Ajas area of the district and shifted the patient being ferried in the ambulance in some other vehicle.
The transfer of the patient was done in the nick of time as the ambulance was completely gutted in the fire that ensued, they said. “The ambulance suffered substantial damage even as the fire was doused off by sleuths of fire and emergency besides police,” an official said, as per news agency GNS. He said there was no loss of life or injury in the incident.
Mechanical fault is said to the possible reason for the fire, the official said. “Further investigation has been launched,” he added.
