Srinagar: At least four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and a civilian were injured on Friday in a grenade attack by militants in Baramulla town of north Kashmir.
According to reports, panic gripped Khanpora area of the main town on Friday afternoon when unknown militants lobbed a grenade towards a CRPF party near bridge that exploded with a bang. The grenade attack, reports said, left four paramilitary personnel and a civilian injured.
All the injured were removed to the nearby hospital for treatment.
The injured CRPF personnel have been identified as ASI Kisku and Constables Dayananad Kumar, Kamlesh Singh and Gautam Mandal.
Soon after the attack, additional reinforcements of police and CRPF reached the spot and started search operation to nab the attackers. However, no reports of any arrests during the search operation were received.
