SRINAGAR: A meeting of District Level Sanctioning Committee (DLSC) of Srinagar was held under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad here on Monday.
On the occasion, the District Development Commissioner approved 23 cases under Marriage Assistance Scheme in favour of unmarried poor girls belonging to the district involving an amount of Rs. 11, 03,885.
Under the Scheme, financial assistance of Rs.25000 and cost of 5 gram gold was sanctioned in favor of unmarried girls belonging to poor families for marriage.
The DDC was informed that so far under the scheme more than one thousand girls of Srinagar district belonging to poor families have been provided financial assistance and an amount of Rs 4.13 crore has been sanctioned and disbursed in their favour.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, SDM West Akshay Labroo, District Social Welfare Officer, Mohammad Ashraf Akhoon and DPO ICDS, Zeenat Ara.
