Srinagar- An unidentified militant on Sunday was killed in an encounter with government forces in Munand area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The encounter broke out on Sunday morning when the government forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the Munand area of the district, officials said. In the encounter, one unidentified militant was killed.

Policeman’s Rifle Snatched In Kulgam
Meanwhile suspected militants on Sunday overpowered a policeman and snatched his rifle in Khudwani area of Kulgam district, reports said.
According to reports, suspected militants overpowered a policeman near Shamsipora Khudwani crossing on Sunday morning and forcibly took away his AK-47 rifle before fleeing from the area. The policeman has been identified as Mudasir Ahmad resident of Devsar. He was currently posted at Wanpoh police station.
Soon after the rifle snatching incident, police and central forces reached the area and launched a search operation to nab the assailants.
