Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police Saturday arrested two absconders in Poonch district who were absconding for the last 28 years.
SSP Poonch Dr Vinod Kumar said that two persons who were wanted in a case and were absconders were arrested by police.
“The arrested duo were wanted for a case and were evading arrest since past 28 years,” he said.
He identified the accused as Muhammad Mahroof, son of Wazir Hussain, resident of Chak Banola, Mendhar and Muhammad Rafiq, son of Mir Mohammad resident of Chak Banola, Mendhar.
“Both the accused were booked in a case 117/1993 under sections 382, 337, 325, 147 RPC but were evading their arrest for the last twenty eight years,” the officer said.
He said that the duo have been arrested now by a team of police from Mendhar police station and further legal proceedings have been initiated—(KNO)
