SRINAGAR: In view of the positive response and on account of encouraging footfall of masses visiting the Kashmir Haat, the Department of Handicrafts & Handloom Kashmir has decided to continue the Craft Mela 2021.
However, on the insistence of the Stall Holders, the stalls shall remain closed on 21st & 22nd July, 2021 on the eve of the Eid-ul-Adha. The amusement section for the kids, however, will remain open during the festive times.
In view of the fact that a good number of people are visiting the Haat for witnessing the Cultural Programme, the same will also resume from 23rd July 2021. The Department of Handicrafts & Handloom, Kashmir in association with the Department of Information has organized the Cultural Programmes in the Kashmir Haat from 10th July 2021 and the same has been attracting a huge number of visitors towards the Haat especially during the evening hours from 6.00 to 8.00 PM.
To make the Haat more vibrant, JKTDC has also set up the food courts that are offering various cuisines to the masses visiting the Kashmir Haat.
It is encouraging to note that good sales of handicraft items have been witnessed. It is expected that with the increased tourist and local inflow to the Kashmir Haat the sales of the stall holders will further go up.
The Department in coordination with the Information Department has lined up different artists to make evenings in the Haat more vibrant.
