ANANTNAG: J&K’s star cricketer, Parvez Rasool on Monday called on the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla and apprised him about the status and development of the sport in the district.
On the occasion, deliberations and discussions were held to find ways to promote cricket among the youth besides inculcating professional temperament in them.
“The DDC hailed the cricketer for his overall role in developing the sport and impressed upon him to continue his efforts of providing the local youth with technical and professional support to improve their abilities. He also called for availing proper platform and opportunities to them so that they showcase and develop their talent and skills,” a Government press release said.
“Dr. Singla assured full support for sorting out the genuine issues to uplift cricket and other games so that the budding sportsmen of the district realize their passion and potential.”
“Rasool thanked the DDC for giving him a patient hearing and expressed commitment for working with dedication and hardwork for the benefit of established as well as aspiring cricketers,” the press release added.
