Srinagar: After the High Court directions, the Estates department has asked nearly two dozen political leaders as well as the former bureaucrats to vacate the government accommodations across Jammu and Kashmir.
Sources within the department said that following the HC directions, the notice vis-à-vis vacating the government accommodations were served to many political leaders as well as the former bureaucrats, according to news agency KNO.
They informed that the notice was served to 150 political leaders and former bureaucrats’ approx, saying that almost two dozen have been there across Jammu and Kashmir now and would be vacated shortly.
“We had got the directions to vacate the former legislators and bureaucrats from government accommodations. We have already started work in this regard and all those staying in these accommodations and have been served notices, will be vacated at earliest,” a top official from the Estates department said.
Pertinently, Jammu and Kashmir High Court had directed the government to take all necessary steps for eviction of the former ministers, legislators, retired officers and politicians from government accommodations and ministerial bungalows.
