SRINAGAR: Two matches were played on Tuesday in the ongoing Premier UT League 2020-21 2nd Phase football tournament at Synthetic Turf TRC, Srinagar.
The first match of the day was played between Dar Sports Kupwara and Etihad FC Pulwama. Both teams started on an aggressive note but neither of the teams was able to score in the 1st half. In the 2nd half, the players of Dar Sports Kupwara geared up and scored two goals thanks to Towqeer Ahmad. Etihad FC tried hard to score but failed to find the net. The final score was 2 goals to nil in favour of Dar Sports Kupwara.
The 2nd match was played between Shopian FC & Ferrari Lions Ganderbal. The football clubs played quality football and tried to dominate each others half. Both the teams got equal opportunities to score but missed their respective targets. The 1st half ended goalless.
The 2nd half started with impressive passing and ball control as the teams tried to penetrate the defensive lines of each other but were unable to find the net. It was towards the dying movements of the 2nd half that Danish of Ferrari Lions scored a magnificent goal. Thus Ferrari Lions defeated Shopian FC by a solitary goal.
The Premier UT League 2nd Phase will continue today with two matches scheduled to take place. SWFC Baramulla will take on J&K Bank XI at 2:30 pm while Iqbal FC Qalosa will take on Kashmir Avengers FC at 4:30 pm.
