Srinagar: At least four illegal structures were demolished by the Enforcement wing of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Monday in ward 26 in its jurisdiction.
Officials said that out of four illegal constructions, two were pulled down at the initial level and two structures that had come up beyond the initial level illegally were demolished after necessary formalities.
According to SMC officials the demolitions took place in Mujgund and Lawaypora areas of Srinagar district.
“An action in this regard has also been initiated against the concerned official for dereliction of duties with regard to building activities to check on unauthorised/illegal constructions.”
Meanwhile the officials of the SMC warned people of raising illegal structures and the concerned Chief enforcement official Mudasir Banday said that illegal structures will be raised to the ground and necessary legal action will be taken.
