Srinagar- A nocturnal encounter broke out between militants and state forces in Rajpora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday, police said.
A joint team of state forces launched a cordon and search operation in Hanjin Rajpora area of Pulwama after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants, said a police official.
“As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an encounter,” the official added.
The encounter was going on till last reports, the official said.
As per the sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
