Srinagar: The cavalcade of Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Junaid Matoo was attacked with stones on Tuesday at Choudhary Bagh Nadiyar in Rainawari area in Srinagar.
Police sources said that the cavalcade of Mayor was attacked with some stones by “miscreants” and his PSO constable Parvaiz Ahmad was hit by a stone and sustained injuries in his left eye.
He was immediately shifted to hospital for treatment and his condition is stable.
They said that Junaid was on a marriage function in the interiors of Dal Lake and was returning to his residence when the incident took place. (KDC)
