Five Theft Cases Solved, Six Accused Arrested
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Srinagar Friday said it arrested three juveniles among six others involved in a number of theft cases and also claimed to have recovered stolen property from their possession.
A police spokesperson, in a statement, said that police officers of Shaheed Gunj Police Station arrested three juvenile’s and recovered three Scooties, one Bike and a Maruti car along with a bunch of keys and other equipments used in the commission of crimes.
Out of three juvenile’s one is resident of UP who is expert in making duplicate keys.
All the juveniles have been sent to juvenile home on remand, by a local court.
“In this regard, cases vide FIR numbers 65/2021, 66/2021 and 69/2021 under relevant section of laws already have been registered in Police Station Shaheed Gunj.”
Similarly, the spokesperson said that Police solved a theft case under FIR No 73/2021 of PS Shaheed Gunj in which cash amount of ₹4 lakh was stolen from a vehicle at Old Secretariat Srinagar.
Police have arrested one accused person from Lawaypora who was involved in the commission of crime and have recovered stolen amount from his possession.
“Moreover, during the investigation of case FIR No. 67/2021 of PS Shaheed Gunj, Police have arrested two accused persons and have recovered cash amount of ₹52000/- from their possession.”
