4 More People Succumb, 2 More Cases Of Black Fungus Detected

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday reported on Saturday 521 new cases of coronavirus, the lowest ever single-day spike in last 75 days, even as four more people died of the infection in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
While Kashmir Valley reported 346 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, the remaining 175, officials said were detected from Jammu division thus taking the total number of people infected by the virus to 311209.
Giving district wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 117, Baramulla 20, Budgam 44, Pulwama 33, Kupwara 24, Anantnag 49, Bandipora 22, Ganderbal 16, Kulgam 18, Shopian 3, Jammu 26, Udhampur 19, Rajouri 17, Doda 39, Kathua 16, Samba 14, Kishtwar 12, Poonch 22, Ramban 5 and Reasi 5 fresh cases of coronavirus.
Moreover, they said, 1197 more patients have recovered—359 from Jammu Division and 838 from Kashmir Valley. So far 297557 people have recovered, leaving active positive cases at 9414—3357 in Jammu and 6057 in Kashmir, they added.
Regarding the four more fatalities, the officials said that two each were reported from Kashmir and Jammu divisions, taking the fatality count to 4238.
The officials also said that two more mucormycosis (black fungus) cases were confirmed in J&K, taking the number of confirmed cases to 24. (With GNS inputs)
