Srinagar: Inspector General of Police Kashmir on Friday visited family of a policeman who was killed by unidentified gunmen near his residence at Saidapora area of Eidgah in capital city Srinagar.
The policeman, Javaid Ahmad, according to police was posted as personal security officer with a retired judge. At the time of the incident late on Thursday evening, police said Javaid was at home on leave.
“IGP Kashmir along with DIG CKR Srinagar & SSP Srinagar visited family of Javaid Ahmad and paid heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members,” police said in a tweet. “IGP Kashmir also assured that Police is always at the forefront to help the families of martyrs.”
