Srinagar- A 24-year-old labourer drowned while extracting sand from river Jhelum in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Monday morning.
An official said that a group of men were extracting sand from the banks of river Jhelum at Kakapora in Pulwama today morning. He said that however, a labourer, identified as Manzoor Ahmad son of Mushtaq Ahmed, a resident of Hayatpora, slipped and fell into the river, according to news agency KDC.
He said that after receiving the information search operation was launched to trace out his body.
