Srinagar: An army driver on Friday was killed after being trapped between two armoured vehicles in Zangli area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
26-year-old Sepoy Bhoopati S (driver) of army’s 41 RR was behind a Cassiper vehicle when its handbrake of the vehicle got disengaged due to some mechanical fault as a result of which it moved backwards and pushed the soldier with another armoured vehicle which was parked behind it, leaving him trapped, news agency GNS reported while quoting officials.
He was immediately evacuated to hospital in an unconscious state but succumbed to the injuries, the report said.
The deceased was a resident of Tamil Nadu. He is survived by his parents besides a brother and a sister.
