2803 New Cases In 24 Hours, 1794 From Kashmir Valley

Srinagar: Coronavirus claimed the lives of 56 more people, including a specially-abled minor in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday while 2803 new cases of infection were reported across the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
According to the officials, 30 more people succumbed to virus in Jammu division on Friday while 26 others died of coronavirus at different healthcare facilities in Kashmir Valley raising the death toll in pandemic to 3795.
Among the victims from Valley, officials said, was a 12-year-old specially abled girl, who died at the Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla, where she was admitted for treatment. A 55-year-old man also died at the healthcare facility.
Besides them, officials said, a 75-year-old man from HMT Srinagar, admitted to SMHS on May 26, died at the hospital, while a 55-year-old woman from Fateh Kadal also died at SMHS hospital, a week after she was admitted there.
A 55-year-old man from Khudpore Budgam died a fortnight after his admission to hospital, they said. Also, they said, a 65-year-old man from Bemina Srinagar died at SKIMS Bemina, 26 days after he was admitted there.
A 66-year-old man from Tarathpora Villgam died at District Hospital Baramulla, three days after he was admitted there, they said, adding that a 61-year-old man from Bemina who was admitted to SMHS hospital on May 17 died at the facility.
At Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, a man from Sarnal, a woman from Akad, a man from Matipora and a man from Khanabal died of Covid related complications, officials said.
Among others, the victims from Jammu division included a 36-year-old man from Nihalpur Simbal, a 70-year-old woman from Gadigarh, a 65-year-old man from R.S Pura, a 58-year-old man from Udhampur besides two others who were brought dead— a 56-year-old from Ramgarh and 68-year-old from Chatha Old Satwari Jammu.
About the fresh cases detected Friday, officials said that 1009 cases were confirmed from Jammu Division and 1794 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 284431.
Giving district wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 382 cases, Baramulla 204, Budgam 223, Pulwama 179, Kupwara 228, Anantnag 207, Bandipora 57, Ganderbal 168, Kulgam 94, Shopian 52, Jammu 320, Udhampur 71, Rajouri 107, Doda 82, Kathua 79, Samba 71, Kishtwar 30, Poonch 92, Ramban 77 and Reasi 80.
Moreover, they said, 3637 more patients have recovered—1741 from Jammu Division and 1896 from Kashmir. There are 41382 active positive cases—16142 in Jammu and 25240 in Kashmir. (With GNS inputs)
